Corn!

Today when I picked up the girls from pre-K/daycare, I opened Katie's car door, and Natalie bent down and picked up a handful of pea gravel from the little strip between the parking lot and the building. I didn't think too much of it, but did make a mental note to just watch her and make sure she didn't try anything crazy. As I lifted Natalie into her car seat, she pulled out one of the tiny pebbles, held it up, and proudly proclaimed, "Corn!" She then smiled and tried to sneak it in her mouth...

"Not corn! Not corn! Yuck!" I was yelling as I tossed her prized pea gravel back to the ground. Natalie was so upset, kicking and screaming as I fastened her seat belt. Katie, sooooo much older and wiser, began lecturing Natalie about how you shouldn't eat rocks because they might stick in your throat and choke you. To this, I added, "And if you DO eat a rock and it goes in your belly, it would sure hurt when it came out in your poop."

"Rock poop??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha....!!!" Katie laughed for blocks. Apparently that was the funniest thing she'd heard all day...
