Happy Thanksgiving!

I do like to cook, but sometimes it's nice to be at someone else's house and have them do all the work. :)

We started off the morning with a swim in the hotel pool and some time hanging out with my parents. We watched the parade on TV, and after taking my dad on a shopping trip for the Secret Ingredient for his famous mashed potatoes, we went over to the house to hang out with everyone. As we were enjoying appetizers and watching football, the girls finally couldn't resist the temptation to play in the cat tunnels.

At last, dinner was served! We had turkey and duck, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rolls, and jell-o. Noticeably absent? Vegetables! (It must run in the family if Ty didn't cook veggies... I had no hand in the meal planning...)

Angie didn't have her pies made ahead of time and waited until after we ate to start baking them. Katie took a turn in rolling out the crust. However, we had to leave before they were done, and they were so late getting out of the oven that no one even ate pie on Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving Day -- and we hope you did, too!!!

  1. Secret Ingredient!!? Now I'm so curious!! Just what does your dad put in his undoubtedly yummy mashed potatoes?

Two types of potatoes and no veggies? I think you must have sent subliminal signals! ;)

So glad you all had a great Thanksgiving celebration together!!!
