This morning I took Katie to kindergarten orientation at our local elementary school. It was very exciting for us to meet her teacher, and also to see that we already know 2 friends in our class. There are 7 sections of kindergarten at our school, and although I knew a few families attending there, I really had no idea if any of them would end up in Katie's class. What a nice surprise to find familiar faces!
We got to unpack Katie's school supplies, see her table that she'll sit at with 3 others, and go on a little scavenger hunt around the classroom to make sure we could find all the important stuff (bathroom, cubbies, etc). The teacher is using a lot of frogs in her decorating theme, which we both thought was pretty cute. Her teacher walked us through their schedule and some of the rules of the classroom. We filled out some forms, and then that was pretty much it for the morning. We'll be back at it bright and early on Tuesday!
I can't believe she goes to big school tomorrow! How did she get to be so old already!?!?!?
Oh wow oh wow oh wow!!!!!! This is so exciting and I can't believe the big day is here already! So glad Katie already knows a couple kids in her class, and it's great that the orientation was so friendly, too. What a great start to the school year!
